'No Future!' - Sculpture

This is an interpretation of the Mid-1970's punk culture which is still influential in Manchester today. This is a play on the sex pistols "No Future!" slogan, interpreting punk before it's mass production as rebellious, accessible to all whilst being a victim of capatilsm.

Punk music became influential in Greater Manchester between 1974 and 1976 with the creation of bands such as the Buzzcock's, The Smith's and The Drones. Unlike any other major city, Manchester hosted the Sex Pistols Anarchy Tour twice at the Electric Circus in 1976. It was events like this that really highlighted Manchester's assorted musicians and gave them that do-it-yourself philosophy which define British Punk.

Punk Rock aimed to aggressively rebel against norms rejecting political idealism whilst promoting individual freedom.
