'I was so much older then.' - Video Collage

"I was so much older then, is a two pronged attack on the ideals of yesteryear, using footage from the late 70’s I hope to highlight how punk rock music was viewed and juxtapose this with news clips from today, in a video collage that aims to highlight the whys and what’s of the stories being covered. Also, using images from Manchester’s musical past and present, I have created new images, for new times, with old material."

99% of the time; work that I produce will have the same underlying message and question. Why are we here? What are we doing here? And does anybody care? So, big questions, with no definitive answer. Which is the point, people should part with my work with more questions in their heads than before they stopped to look, and if they’re going to be asking themselves questions, I want them to be the bigger questions, which filter down when other experiences present themselves. It’s a naïve part of me that sets this in motion, but if you had to define my work in a sentence, then it’d probably be “Can’t we all just, get along?”
